    Who we are

Joanne Hairdressing is an independent hair salon established in 1984. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

    What we collect

Depending on how you use the salon and this website, we may collect:

    • Your name, phone number and email address when you book, call or contact us.
    • Appointment history, service notes, colour formulas and patch test records, so we can look after your hair safely.
    • Details you send us when applying for a job, including any CV you email to us.
    • Answers you give in our Help Me Choose quiz.
    • Technical information about how you use the website, such as pages visited and device type.

    How we use it

    • To manage your appointments and provide your services.
    • To reply to your enquiries and, for job applicants, to consider your application.
    • To keep records that protect your safety, such as patch tests and colour history.
    • To understand how the website is used and improve it.

Our lawful bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running the salon, legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it (for example for optional cookies).

    Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We use trusted providers to run the business, including our online booking and salon management system, our website hosting and database provider, and Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. They only process information on our behalf or under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

    How long we keep it

We keep client records for as long as they are useful for your safe and effective treatment, and for as long as the law requires. Job applications are kept only as long as needed to consider them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

    Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. To do so, contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

    Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep the website working, remember your choices (such as light or dark mode and your cookie choice), and, if you accept, measure website traffic through Google Analytics so we can improve the site.

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, and you can block cookies in your browser altogether, although some parts of the site may not work as expected.

    Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
