Get hairstyle inspiration online

Hands up if you had a Pinterest board for your wedding even before you were engaged. Us too! Pinterest is an amazing place to find ideas for your dream hair style with a seemingly endless supply of beautiful dos. As there are so many however, it can be tricky to choose just one so we recommend saving any styles that catch your eye, as you’ll soon start to see a pattern emerging of your preferred pics.

Browse wedding magazines for on-trend styles

While researching online gives you an almost endless supply of inspiration, it can be difficult to know which styles are bang on trend and which will leave you looking like a bride from the 90’s. So, have a browse through wedding magazines to pick up tips and advice about the latest wedding fashion trends (and to see what the hairstyles look like with wedding dresses).

Choose models with your hair colour

There’s nothing more worrying to a hair stylist than a bride showing them a photo of a model with a totally different hair colour to them. That’s because while we can recreate the style, it just won’t look the same on you as on the model. That’s why we always tell our brides-to-be to make sure to find their desired style on a model with the same hair colour as them. This way, you’ll be sure of what it will actually look like in your hair.

Don’t forget to think about your dress

As surprising as it may sound, lots of brides don’t consider their dress when deciding on their big day hair but this is crucial to ensure both hair and dress complement one another. For instance, if your dress has a gorgeously detailed lace back you won’t want your long locks covering up the fabulous design, so an up do might be better suited to show your gown off to the full.

Have a pre-wedding hair trial

Of course, you can do all the research in the world and be 100% sure you’ve found your dream wedding hair only to find it simply doesn’t feel right on the day. So, to avoid any last-minute panics, always have a hair trial a few weeks before the wedding. Lots of brides can’t decide between 2 or even 3 different hair styles so a trial will also give you the chance to try them all out.
